Diaconate Ordination Ceremony 2025

We cordially invite you to witness and celebrate the ordination of six remarkable seminarians to the order of Deacon at St. Paul's Seminary Chapel in Kinyamasika. This sacred ceremony represents the culmination of years of intensive theological study, spiritual formation, and pastoral preparation.

The candidates for ordination have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their calling, excelling in their studies of Sacred Scripture, Church History, Moral Theology, and Canon Law. Through extensive pastoral placements in local parishes, they have gained valuable experience in ministry, developing the skills necessary to serve God's people with compassion and wisdom.

The ordination ceremony will be presided over by His Lordship Bishop Dr. Callistus Rubaramira of Kabale Diocese, with concelebration by seminary faculty and visiting clergy. The liturgy will include the traditional laying on of hands, the prayer of consecration, and the investiture with the dalmatic and stole—symbols of their new ministry.

As deacons, these newly ordained ministers will assist at the altar during Mass, proclaim the Gospel, preach, distribute Holy Communion, and perform baptisms. They will continue their theological studies while engaging in diaconal ministry, preparing for their eventual ordination to the priesthood.

Following the ceremony, there will be a reception in the seminary hall where guests can congratulate the new deacons and share in the joy of their families and the seminary community. Light refreshments and traditional Ugandan cuisine will be served.
