Spiritual Formation

Developing a deep personal relationship with God through prayer, sacraments, and spiritual practices, forming men of authentic holiness who can lead others to Christ.

Spiritual Formation

Spiritual formation is the foundation of all priestly formation. At St Paul's Seminary, we recognize that priests must first be men of prayer and deep communion with God before they can effectively minister to others.

Our spiritual formation program includes daily Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours, regular Eucharistic adoration, monthly retreats, and annual eight-day retreats. Each seminarian is assigned a spiritual director who provides personalized guidance in developing their prayer life and growing in holiness.

We emphasize devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the saints, helping seminarians develop a rich spiritual life that will sustain them throughout their priestly ministry. Regular sacramental confession, spiritual reading, and meditation are integral parts of our formation program.

The spiritual dimension includes formation in liturgical celebration, preaching, and the pastoral care of souls. Seminarians learn to integrate their personal prayer life with their future ministry, understanding that effective pastoral work flows from a deep relationship with Christ.
